Case study Mazda RX7
This is the case study of a customer's Mazda RX7 FD3S sports car.
The customer had recently purchased the heavily modified RX7, however where the engine and mechanicals were in good condition the bodywork was entirely different.
'Angel Eye' aftermarket headlamps had been fitted to the car, replacing the standard sleek popup light units. These aftermarket lights gave the car a more individual look however they were very poor at lighting the roads at night. The customer had decided he wanted to replace these lights with a set of original popup light units.
Both front wings were buckled, probably from crash damage that was poorly repaired several years ago. Because of this the front wings did not correctly line-up with the aftermarket front bumper, giving the front end a cheap and lopsided look. Neither of the front wings had been properly colour matched either so the customer wanted these properly repaired and repainted to a 'as new' standard.
The customer was also not happy about the way the front bumper was fixed on the car, as it was loose to the touch. You could move the bumper by just pressing your finger on it. This needed to be repainted and correctly re-attached to the car.
A pair of C-west sideskirts and C-west rear bumper had been sourced by the customer and he wanted these fitted and painted up at the same time.
We turned this work around in under a week, paintwork and fittings were done to the highest quality. As the pictures on the right show we retro fitted the popup light units, repaired the front wings, front bumper and dealt with some heavy rust we found underneath the front bumper.
Here at Hybrid Paintworks jobs like these are our bread and butter, we can perform mechanical repairs as well as the complete bodywork package. No job is too big, if you need some work doing to your pride and joy get in touch.
